When Lounge Underwear approached me for a promotional collaboration I didn’t ever think that I would love their intimate pieces as much as I do. Designed for “lounging” around in, the brand has really hit on a concept for their pieces that is so simple and have executed that idea in a super stylish way making their sets a huge success online. I have suffered with constant breast pain since forever! A problem that is medically termed “Costochondritis” which is a condition affecting the cartilage that joins your ribs to your breastbone that becomes inflamed – making wearing under-wired and heavily padded bras an uncomfortable experience. Lounge Underwear gets rid of those rigid structures and strips it down to the basics – just pure stretchy, soft fabric. They are my go-to underwear as soon as I get home and of course for lounging around in on a lazy Sunday afternoon. These sets are available for purchase online via their website.

These My Bandage Dress pieces are perfect for both a romantic occasion and a girly night out. The signature bandage fabric is skin tight so it’s really good if you want to achieve that hour-glass shape. All the pieces feature a zip that runs down the back making it a lot easier to put on, and of course take off (there’s no awkward over the head pulling off and getting stuck). Their website offers endless choices of colours – which no matter which you choose they all compliment each other, so don’t be afraid of getting out of your comfort zone!

Dubai, Fashion

January 4, 2016

If you’re planning a trip to Dubai before their summer heat hits and have no idea what to pack… I’ve got you covered. From a night out to a day at the beach I have listed my tips and suggestions for you to have a look at and answer all those questions you might have floating around about what to bring in your case.

The clubbing scene in Dubai if you haven’t already heard is pretty good to say the least. It is like a fashion show when you get out there and everyone is looking their best in the latest catwalk worthy trends. Think ultimate glam! Anything goes, low cut tops, body-cons, high heels, jumpsuits, heavy jewelry, thick eyelashes – anything! So don’t be afraid wear whatever you want and do it with confidence. My main tip would be just wear what you would wear back home to go out, but really think along the lines of stylish and any trending styles at the time – glam it up!

Brunch is a must-do when visiting Dubai. It happens every Friday (the weekend starts on Friday) and you will probably find it more of a task deciding which Brunch to go to than what to wear. However, Brunch is a rather formal occasion, so definitely do not turn up in a bikini and a throw over with your flip flops on. Think along the lines of – elegant, chic and effortless. Kind of like what you’d wear to dinner, but go more with a SUMMER vibe.

There is a massive beach club culture in Dubai and with so many stunning venues on offer you’ll want to spend all your days lounging on the Palm, with a cocktail in hand, looking out on to the Dubai skyline. Throw on your best bikini or swimsuit, any style goes but my tips would be make sure your cover up, summer dress or throw over is as glamorous as your swimwear. I wouldn’t go as far as to say you should wear what you would wear to go to Ocean Club in Ibiza (the only exception to this rule is if you are going to Blue Marlin). I would suggest something more low key, but still something that makes every girl’s (and guy’s, obviously) head turn when you strut in to claim your sun bed.

Going out for dinner in Dubai especially on a special occasion was always my favourite kind of night, be it a girly catch up, birthday, date night I loved getting dressed up for it and making a night of it. The restaurant scene in Dubai is amazing! There is so much choice (like everything in that city) and there is something for everyone. The venues are always 5* and require you to dress accordingly. My suggestions are maxi dresses, jumpsuits or that outfit you want to wear to the clubs, but just cannot justify getting it stepped on or drink thrown all over it. Sophisticated is the concept.

Day trips to the mall are always fun (carrying back all the bags isn’t though). If you’re worried about what to wear like so many people do when they come to Dubai try not to over think it. Like I said in my previous blog Urban Legends of Dubai there isn’t fashion police hunting down people who have their shoulders and knees on show. It’s totally fine to go to the mall in a cute summer dress just so long as it doesn’t draw attention to you. I suggest midi skirts, ripped jeans, tailored summer dresses -always look chic and casual.

Bay of Paradiso Halter and One Side Tie Bottom

I jumped at the opportunity to work with up-and-coming swimwear brand KAANDA Beach Life. Being a Thai-based brand located in Phuket and with me being currently located in Koh Samui it was just the perfect match.

The mother brand goes by the name of Katalina Collection which has been established since 2010, but has now launched its own designs internationally under the name of KAANDA Beach Life, and they are stunning. You can find their range in a number of different countries worldwide such as, North America, Italy, Scandinavia, Russia, Maldives, Malaysia, Thailand and Russia.

The name Kaanda is derived from the Pali language – the sacred language of Theravada Buddhism which is the predominant religion of continental Southeast Asia. Kannda means the ‘sixth sense’ and is also a combination of the designer’s name and the Andaman Sea… It was just meant to be and it sounds gorgeous too!

I was so impressed by the quality and fit of the swimwear. The material is divine (imported from Italy) and the attention to detail is superb – most of the swimwear have Swarovski crystal pendants attached somewhere and some have their signature symbol – which is a golden Buddhist ‘love knot’ hanging from the ends of the cords. I fell in love with the swimwear instantly.

Bay of Paradiso Halter and One Side Tie Bottom

This tropical number was my favourite bikini set. The print was vibrant and elegant, and the style made for a perfect fit. This bikini will look flattering on anyone. The top supports up to a D cup – I’m literally an A cup and I still felt comfortable in it, the shape of the top actually made me look bigger and I’m sure it would no doubt support those with a bustier chest even better. The bottoms don’t offer too much exposure which I love as it maintains that elegance.

Crystal Cove Surplice

This is another flattering one piece in a colour to die for! The fit was amazing. I have no curves at all and it made me look, and feel so good. It has seams across the bust and along the waist making it look high-waisted, and ultra sophisticated hugging your body in all the places you’d want a one piece to. The straps are adjustable and again, it is another design that supports the bustier ladies, as it fits up to a D cup. It has a golden Swarovski coin attached on the back for extra detail. This is perfect for a day at a beach club or just to relax with the girls for the day.

Portofino GOLD Moulded Triangle Top with Seamless Side Ties Bottom

The material on this bikini, it just glows under the sun which makes it perfect for tanned skin tones. This bikini is super glamorous with a padded top to give you that extra boost and seamless tie side bottoms. On the back of the bottoms and along the lining of the bikini top there is golden Swarovski pendant, and if that wasn’t detailed enough, the cords all have the golden love knot dangling from them. Pure beauty.

Pythonia High Neck Cut Out

One pieces have made a big comeback this year, no swimwear range would be complete without them and both of KAANDA’s one pieces did not disappoint me at all. This one was full of colour and the cut out, high necked style was super edgy, but in a good way. The swimsuit fitted really well over the bum area – so important when you buy a one piece – and just the overall fit was brilliant. I have a taller frame and the swimsuit, I felt really flattered me. The high neck style is chic and gives you the appearance of a bigger chest, so again perfect for me!

I have been lucky enough that a week before I leave for Thailand, Blue Glue Bikinis – a Bali based swimwear producer and designer were kind enough to let me shoot some material for my blog with four of their new collection (and absolutely gorgeous) bikinis, and picking them from the showroom was so hard.

Being from the UK I had never come across the brand until I came here to Bali and the first time I stepped in their shops (which are all over Seminyak) I fell in love with everything. The swimwear range is truly unique which look incredible on anyone who wears them. I love how exotic the designs are, the fabrics are high quality and most of them you can turn inside out for another totally different look.

The designer whom I had the privilege to meet was more than welcoming (and as chic as her swimwear range might I add) and gave me an exclusive design to shoot which I can’t reveal until the release date! I was so excited about it, the style is of course gorgeous and I will the post the look as soon as I can!

Byzance set Sirocco

This golden crotchet bikini is my absolute favourite (and I am now a proud owner of this one). The details on this bikini are so intricate. It is hand painted in bronze and lined in dark sepia lycra. The bikini top has a no hassle function which means no need to tie a knot at the top and the bottoms tie on the sides with golden braids. Ultimate GLAM.

Favela set Acai

This pink number is super sassy with major LATINA vibes. The bikini top is really interesting crossing over at the front and following around to the back where you get this stunning back design. The bottoms offer that little bit more extra exposure, and also have the same woven zig zag design to match the top.

Thaikila set Singha

I have seen this exotic bikini on so many bloggers and models so I just had to try it for myself. It is so comfortable – the fabric is super soft so you don’t really feel like you’re wearing anything! The top has a bright floral design with black structure and ties in so many different ways at the back. The bottoms are stunning and tie on the sides with more exotic prints to match the top, but contrast slightly to give a more “edgy” look.
